Nepal
Reliance Organization (NRO) welcomes Nepalese and international
volunteers in the great valleys of the Himalayas in Nepal, to make
their positive contribution in a developing country with a rich
culture.
NRO is a not-for-profit and non-governmental organization created
by Nepali women. It has received a legal registration with
the Social Welfare Council. It has been designed to attract
volunteers from Nepal and all over the world. NRO give them
an opportunity to make a difference of some degree in our villages
and urban areas.
NRO provides volunteers with community support and cultural experience
through carefully organized programs in villages and urban areas.
In addition, they can spare sometime for adventure and exploration.
Especially, volunteers from all over the world return back
home with everlasting memories.
Special programs designed for overseas volunteers are twofold:
First, they receive an orientation in Nepali language and
culture. Then, they are placed in a community to:
- Teach English
- Contribute to the development
of income generation programs
- Provide primary health care orientation,
including reproductive health
- Raise awareness about environmental
issues and sanitation
- Experience Cultural Immersion
NRO volunteer programmes are available to individuals both gender,
and groups. Placement ranges from two weeks to five months,
and can be adjusted to accomodate people's needs as well.
Volunteer activities are already having an impact in a variety
of social and economical programmes.
